I'm writing my psychic reading editorial on a beautiful sunny day at the little beach cafe at Elwood Beach, just down from St Kilda. I'm watching the yachts on Port Phillip Bay, and the cargo ships lined up on the horizon waiting their turn to come into the Melbourne port.
If you're looking for a city with scrumptious food from all over the world, then multicultural Melbourne is the place for you. Its a cosmopolitan city with many different nationalities, all expressing their cultural individuality and their delicious cuisines.
Melbourne has the second largest Greek community in the world. A few days ago I had one of the best souvalakis ever in one of the many Greek cafes in Lonsdale Street.
Lygon Street in Carlton is home to the passionate and lively Italian restaurant and bar community. It's a great place to be during the Melbourne Grand Prix especially if you follow the Ferrari Team, or the World Cup if Italy makes the finals.
Christmas Windows
At Christmas time in Melbourne, kids and families head for the Bourke Street Mall and the Myer Christmas windows. They're the highlight of the season for excited children, and grown ups. Even Melbournians from cultures that don't religiously celebrate Christmas will make their way into the CBD to look at the fairytale animated stories in the windows.
