Regional Victoria Psychic Experience - The Ghost With the Cowboy Hat

This week's psychic reading blog follows on from my previous blog about my paranormal experiences on a trip to the Macedon Ranges in Regional Victoria.

This time I'm writing about my encounter with a friendly ghost at the Royal George Hotel in Kyneton, Victoria, just north of Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges Region. 

The Royal George Hotel was the last place we stopped on our trip to finish off the day with an icy cold beer.

Even at the entrance of the Royal George, I could energetically feel some past violence, emanating from the hotel building. I made sure my protective spiritual shield on my aura was strengthened as we took a seat near the front of the bar.

Just as my friend returned with boutique on-tap beers and the most delicious ginger beer, I felt the spiritual presence of a man wearing an unusual cowboy hat standing behind.

I turned to my friends and told them about the presence of my spiritual ghost and described his appearance. He energetically appeared as a tall slim man, who I described as a pastoralist. He wore tan coloured pants and had a shirt with a vest. What stood out was the unusual hat he wore on his head. It appeared to dip in the middle at the top and looked like an old American West cowboy hat.

Friendly Spirit with the Cowboy Hat

Just as there are both good and bad people on earth, there is also both good and bad in the spiritual realms. A genuine medium can detect the vibrational frequencies being released by the auric field of the departed. The man in spirit wearing the cowboy hat in the Royal George Hotel was a friendly spirit and only radiated heightened vibes. Spiritually, he appeared relaxed and he seemed to enjoy being around the locals and tourists visiting his local pub. He was just curious.

Curiosity sometimes gets the best of me when I have a paranormal experience like this one. My spiritual encounters encourage me to learn about the history and the lives of the people. After this paranormal experience I wanted to find out more about the history of the Royal George Hotel and try to find out why I saw the Spirit of a pastoralist wearing an American cowboy hat there. During my search I was excited to discover that there is an American link to the hotel.

The Gold Diggers Arms

When the Royal George Hotel was first built in 1852 it was called the Gold Diggers Arms. The name itself reveals its connection to the Victorian Gold Rush, where people from all over the world rushed to the Goldfields north of Melbourne to strike it rich. Kyneton is one of the towns the gold diggers had to pass through to reach the goldfields in Castlemaine and Bendigo.

John Byng - the American Connection

The first publican of the Gold Diggers Arms was an American named John Byng who arrived in Australia in 1837. He was by historical accounts "a large and striking man over six foot tall who dressed in the latest fashions and rode a prancing white horse". He was the son of a freed African-American slave from South Carolina, and made his way to Australia to create a whole new life away from the history of the slave trade in America.

However, he wasn't the slim ghost figure I'd seen wearing the American cowboy hat, because my ghost figure showed me that he was a caucasian. But the knowledge that John Byng wore clothes like the ones I had seen my friendly ghost wearing, reinforced the American influence in Kyneton in the mid 1900's particularly around the Victorian Gold Fields.

I found out that John Byng was stabbed with a small knife while removing a patron from the Gold Diggers Arms, and died several weeks later from the infected wound. 

This was a confirmation of violence I was picking up on around the establishment. But I knew there would have been more violence than the stabbing of John Byng, as there were many incidents of violence during the gold rush. 

Paranormal Experience

It's interesting to realise that one of the reasons I spiritually recognised the unusual cowboy hat on my ghost, may have been due to the flamboyant sense of style that John Byng left with some of the local farmers and residents of the town.

We can learn a lot from the spiritual realms if we allow the departed to lift the veil of time and let us into their world. The Royal George Hotel holds a special story about freedom. An African-American man, son of a slave, who left everything behind in America to play a part in Australia's early history. This is a story worthy of a film script and should be embraced by the locals and the Australian people.

All of this was revealed to me, just by walking into a pub at Kyneton.

Vine Psychic: Hanging Rock Ley Line - Paranormal Story

In my Psychic Reading Blog this week, I'm sharing how I energetically found a strong ley line between Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock in regional Victoria, just north of Melbourne, Australia.

Picnic at Hanging Rock
If you've read the famous Australian novel 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' you may believe the story has no basis in truth, but after feeling the heightened energy in the area during a recent drive through the Macedon Ranges Region, I believe there's more to the story than even the locals might be aware of. The book (and film) is about a group of girls from a local school who disappeared in mysterious circumstances whilst picnicking at Hanging Rock.

The final chapter of the book, which reveals what happened to the girls, wasn't published with the original version for commercial reasons, and perhaps also because author Joan Lindsay made the ending  quite spiritually paranormal, and the book may have been criticised for this in the 1960's when it was published.

But the last chapter also reveals Joan Lindsay's spiritual understanding of things, and perhaps she set her fictional story in this area for reasons based on her own spiritual insights.

My Spiritual Journey to the Mt Macedon Region
It was a picturesque day when a friend took me and my partner on a drive to the Mount Macedon area.

My partner is used to my energy channeling, but my friend had a one off experience when she took us on a surprise visit to the school her daughter attends, Braemar College. I didn't know anything about it and so I was amazed to discover a grand and picturesque old school located in the bush on the side of Mount Macedon in Woodend.

My Spiritual Vision at Braemar College
I stepped out of the car park at Braemar and immediately entered a light trance. I started to see spiritual visions of Braemar, but not the same way the schools looks now.

The vision I saw was the area in front of the school, which is now used to park cars, but I saw the area as a playground. I saw girls wearing school tunics that looked like they were from the early 1900s, playing in the area just in front of the school entrance.

In the days following our surprise visit I learnt that Braemar, as well as being a beautiful school, is also steeped in history. Dame Elizabeth Murdoch, attended the school as a young girl and it has a connection with 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' author, Joan Lindsay. But as we left the school all of this was still unknown to me.


Ley Line Energy Near Hanging Rock
As we were driving along a wooded lane I felt a strong vibrational energy. It was a dark energy and without realising it, I'd let out an unintentional shriek.

My friend asked what was wrong, thinking I'd hurt myself. My aura had felt such a dark force that my solar plexus chakra was taking time to recover from the energy. Then my friend turned around and went past the exact spot where I initially felt the energy and this time I didn't even try to hide the feeling. It was awful. I remarked to everyone in the car, "There's a ley line here and it is radiating dark energy."


Straws Lane - Ley Line - Dark Magnetic Energy
My friend lived in the area, so I asked her if there was ever unusual activity there. She told us that the street in which I was experiencing the energy of the ley line was called Straws Lane, and people from all over the world come to visit it because it is said that cars appear to roll up hill. Straws Lane runs in a direct line between Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock.

I've since found reports of other strange things happening around Straws Lane and Hanging Rock.

I can't say I was shocked by any of that because the magnetic force of the ley line was overwhelming for me and I was half expecting that strange things would have been reported there.

As we drove down Straws Lane, all I could feel was that this ley line wasn't pleasant. I remarked that I wanted to research what the aboriginal elders revealed about this location, because I had no doubt they would have picked up on all of this, long before me.


Joan Lindsay, Braemar College - Hanging Rock Mystery
My friend shared her local knowledge that author Joan Lindsay actually attended the Clyde School, which later became Braemar College after moving to Woodend. She based the fictional school in Picnic at Hanging Rock, 'Appleyard College', on Braemar College. My friend also knew of a true story about some Braemar girls going missing for a while, but they were found.

We drove to Hanging Rock and there I could feel the same magnetic activity I had encountered before. So I had a spiritual puzzle surrounding unpleasant energy of the ley line and whether author Joan Lindsay picked up on this before she wrote her famous novel?  'Picnic at Hanging Rock' may have been based on a true story, as well as on Joan Lindsay's spiritual knowledge of the area.

My Braemar College Vision Confirmed in Old Photos
On returning to my friends place we looked up a book on  the history of Braemar College and found historical photos that showed the building exactly as I described it. We found a photo of  school girls in the same sort of tunics I saw, exercising at the exact location I was standing in when I saw them in the vision.

This photo, circa 1921, shows school girls dressed just as I saw them in my vision. I was standing at the front entrance when I saw a spiritual vision of girls playing, wearing school tunics. This is now a road, trees and a car park (see next picture).

This is how it is today in front of Braemar College.


Hanging Rock Ley Line - Kulin Nation Knowledge
Later on I found various articles suggesting that Hanging Rock and the region where the ley line runs between Hanging Rock and Mount Macedon, was considered to be sacred by the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, who lived in the area. It seems that for spiritual reasons, first nation people do not climb Hanging Rock.

There are several clans and tribes that share the Macedon Ranges area, and therefore it's important to acknowledge all the clans and tribes of the Kulin nation that live in this area.

Ley Line Energy
There is so much more to magnetic ley lines than is immediately apparent. The energy surrounding them is not always pleasant and it made me realise how the first peoples of the world were, and still are very much aware that there is both light and dark energy. They don't romanticise sacred energy for the sake of making everything appear positive, as is often the case in New Age philosophy, which can be more interested in selling courses and books, than really helping people.

Who will win the Australian Election?

Some of my clients have been finishing their psychic readings by asking me to declare the winner of the Australian federal election. Will it be Labor or Liberal?


The Real Issue
Spirit is not really concerned about election results, they are however concerned about our environment and the message getting through to our political leaders that we don’t have a lot of time to waste about tackling climate change.

Addressing Climate Change
There is more to the scientific puzzle on whether climate change is man-made or a natural phenomenon. (I have already received guidance and written about this in previous blog articles). What is more important to spirit is, what are we going to do to stop climate change getting any worse, and guiding our leaders to be more progressive and visionary in their thinking when bringing in progressive renewable and green policies, and stopping the heavy polluters and large business consortiums dominating the debate on whether climate change actually exists. Does spirit care about some of the power games of the large business and media magnates and political pressure groups? Yes.

The spiritual guidance I have received over the last 30 years has been about recognising our world is going through major change and to be ready and spiritually alert to tackle this. Although spirit will provide one-on-one guidance to help people clarify some of their pressing life issues, they also have been guiding that unless we begin to get ready for the changes to our environment we will have greater numbers of environmental refugees seeking assistance because their home lands have been lost, and the economic cost on our planetary economies will not be able to cope. This guidance has been given to me since I was a child. The changes that spirit is emphasising have occurred in my lifetime and yours. They will also be affecting your children and your children’s children.

Is the Australian election going to be influenced by the lack of foresight by politicians in Australia in seriously addressing climate change? Yes.

Close Election
The Australian election is going to be on a knife’s edge and there is going to be a lot of debate after the election by the political strategists who believed they were reading the electorate’s way of thinking when they released their political policies.

The one thing they have failed to adequately address is the discourse of the spiritual beings that want stronger leadership from our political parties on a wide range of issues. They are not seeing this and that is why the major political parties are in for a large shock.


The Greens
The Greens will have a lot of support, more than originally anticipated and will win a lot of electoral backing to get them over the line in some of the seats they have failed to win in the past. The Australian electorate is going to place a protest vote to both major parties and although the Liberal party believes they have won a lot of support from the disgruntled, and have played on the fear of the electorate in some of the marginal seats using refugees as pawns in a game, they will find this won’t get them over the line.


Previous Prime Minister Kevin Rudd
...how he will influence the election?
Kevin Rudd is crucial to turning the electorate around, and it is not an accident that he had to lose power and enter a time of soul searching about his political leadership. Spirit guides that the reason why Kevin Rudd was failing to engage the public, was because he was mentally and spiritually tired. His irritability was a classic sign of this, and although he had people around him, most didn’t take him to the side and place his face in the mirror to gaze into those tired eyes. A spiritual being requires a healthy lifestyle to keep on top of their game. When this is unbalanced the cards will fall down ­ which is why in the end the previous Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd ended up in hospital to have his gall bladder removed.

The younger voters, demographics mostly aged from 18 - 40 will be showing both parties they are not happy with the way they have ignored their views about taking Australia into a new foreword-thinking era. These voters will hold the balance of power in the Australian election.

The Result
The Labor party will win the federal election and will be told in no uncertain terms that this time they must do more about protecting the environment. The polls will not reflect this until the last week of the election campaign and there it will be seen to all… the Australian people have spoken.
